I created a series of encaustic paintings in 2002 where I used many varieties of natural materials. From leaves to spices all incorporated encaustic to create a series of dresses. This little mini series of cards is reminiscent of that series. I have used encaustic here but differently. The torso is encaustic and oil on a bed of chiffon. The skirt is made of willow leaves. The clasps for her top look like little bug eyes hence here name Bug.  Original – Private Collection.
